My name is Emilia Martin,
I am a visual storyteller with a particular love for photography, a writer,
and a dreamer who can easily escape into the land of fantasies and fiction.
I currently study at the MA Photography & Society programme
at the Royal Academy of the Art in the Hague, Netherlands, where I am based.
Through my artistic practice I explore themes of identity, connection, belonging
and escapism. I focus on the emotional landscapes entangled within these bigger themes, inspired and informed by my interests in psychology, poetry, fiction.
My personal projects are results of long term photographic investigations, often following paths that lead me to unexpected places and never fail to teach me something new about myself and those around me.
I care deeply about the equality and ethical approaches within the storytelling narratives and I consider myself a caring feminist.
